One Day @ J&J

At Jenike & Johanson, we believe that education and sharing of knowledge are important assets to project management and longterm success.

Proper training of personnel involved in solids handling and processing is essential to operating an efficient and reliable bulk solids handling system. Since the theory of bulk solids handling is seldom a part of formal engineering training, many in industry lack an understanding of why solids handling problems occur and what practical steps can be taken to diagnose, alleviate, or prevent them. This full-day seminar will provide solid insights into common flow problems that can arise when powders and bulk solids are put into silos, bins, and hoppers. Ways to characterize a material’s flow properties will also be demonstrated in our laboratory, along with a discussion of proven, practical, and cost effective design solutions.

This course will provide:

  • Valuable insights into critical flow problems that can arise when powders and bulk solids are handled in transfer chutes, silos, bins, and hoppers and their effect on reliability
  • Hands-on demonstrations of material flow
  • Solid understanding of material flow properties
  • Engaging discussions of proven, practical, and cost-effective design solutions and safe handling practices

Who should attend:

This course offers valuable benefits to

  • Design, project, and research engineers and scientists
  • Plant operation personnel responsible for solving and preventing flow problems
  • Plant operation personnel in charge of purchasing handling equipment
  • Personnel interested in learning more about bulk solids testing

Course details:

  • Introduction to bulk solids handling and material testing

COVID-19 Policy

Jenike & Johanson is committed to protecting our employees, visitors, and community from the spread of COVID-19. The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly, and we are constantly evaluating our controls with a risk-based approach, while also ensuring that we follow the guidelines and recommendations of federal, state and local health officials. Based on the trends and level of risk in areas where Jenike & Johanson operates, we have the following requirements for attendees to our One Day @ J&J Event:

1) All attendees must be fully vaccinated.*

2) J&J’s current visitor policy requires that attendees who are not up-to-date with their vaccines wear masks in our facility.  Attendees who are up-to-date will are not required to wear masks at this time.**

3) Please stay home if you are sick.  Attendees who must cancel because of COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test will be given a full refund.

Please remember that these requirements may change as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve.  We will contact you with the updated COVID-19 requirements for attendees if there is a change prior to the event.

*Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since you have received your second of two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines or your only dose of Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

** Up-to-date means you have received a booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines if at least 5 months have passed since your second of two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, or two months have passed since your only dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. For more information on staying up-to-date on your COVID-19 vaccination, see the CDC’s website.
