Analysis and proper design of pneumatic conveying systems

November 05, 2012

Jenike & Johanson engineers have the knowledge, experience, and pneumatic conveying testing capabilities needed to solve or prevent costly problems such as pipeline wear, plugging, throughput limitations, and particle damage (attrition). These problems can result from equipment mismatches, insufficient test data, or incorrect assumptions about the bulk solids being conveyed.

Using our specialized analytical software for modeling gas and solids flow through a pipeline, we can provide design recommendations for a pneumatic conveying system that operates reliably, safely, and efficiently right from the start.

Our system design typically includes conveying characteristics, pipeline and elbow type/layout, specification of major components (gas mover, separator, etc.), and system operating conditions (estimated pressure drop, solids loading ratio, gas velocities, etc.).
